One Weekend. One Book. And One Dream.

You've arrived.  You're at the top of your game.
And now it's time to tell the story.... YOUR story

Special Reports now available!

You probably could have retired years ago, but work is still way too much fun and challenging to let you walk away.  And while there are many who envy both your lifestyle and your accomplishments,

Something's missing.

With all that you've achieved, there's still one seemingly unattainable goal: one that's starting to look like more of a dream or a fantasy.

And we know what it is.

 It's  time to fess up:

YOU WANT TO WRITE A BOOK.

There.  It's out.  Phew.  Feel better?

Probably not.  If you are who we think you are, you've spent years alternately jotting notes and creating the rationalizations that keep you stuck. Maybe you dip that big toe in the water and create an outline, some vignettes and even take the time to collect some of the quotes that have inspired you over the years.

Then, somehow, something more pressing always seems comes along. You think "I'm no writer, this is a self-indulgent waste of time."

Poof.

There goes your dream. Tucked back into that top left-hand drawer underneath some legal pads, your day planner and probably a  photo or two.

Yet, most weekends, when you've finished  something from your reading pile, you find yourself thinking "I could do better than this..... if only I had the time."

If you're a habitual goal-attainer, you've probably managed to come up with the saddest justification of all: "Obviously, I must not really want to do this or I'd have found a way to get it done."

We're not going to let you off the hook that easily.  It's not as simple as just not wanting it badly enough.  Your desire to write a book is real, but you're probably somewhere you haven't been in years:

You don't know how.

And how long has it been since you've had to say that about anything?

It's no secret that many top selling book titles are co-authored, heavily edited or even ghost written.  There's a lot involved in putting together a book.  Ever spend any time reading the acknowledgements at the beginning?   What does every writer do?  They thank the team that helped them get the job done.  A publisher, an editor, a copy editor, a proof reader, draft readers, family, friends, researchers, printers, designers....

It takes a team to get the job done.

Think back on some of your biggest accomplishments. You had the initial flash of brilliance, that genius of an idea BUT you probably couldn't (or didn't) do all of the production or implementation yourself....  at least not after the first year or two!  You put together a team. And you got the best you could afford at every step along the way.

What did you look for in those team members?  Drive?  Intelligence? Initiative? Creativity?  How about a successful track record, a sense of humor and the skills and experience to complement your own?

Imagine yourself spending a weekend with the team that could help you take your book from dream to reality.  The ones who could actually hear your key ideas and to help you get the job done -- to actually put your book in your hands.

Picture yourself working with that team to finish a competent first draft in only four days....  And then?

That picture's up to you.  Do you see yourself with a book on Amazon?  Or, handing them out as a holiday 'thank you' to the people who work so hard for you, every day?  Or, how about as a follow-up to the training and other public speaking that you do?

Would that work for you?

And now that you can SEE your dream, here are 12 reasons to get your book done NOW:

  1. Tell the story behind the story.  Successful people make hard decisions along the way.  Chances are you've been in a position where it would have been nice to tell "the other side of the story." Here's your chance.
  2. Transform your dream into reality. It's a goal that's been on your list for a long time.  It's time to get real and make it real.
  3. Chronicle your personal history and capture those life lessons for those you love.
  4. Let your kids, grandkids or other important people get to know the person you are outside of your relationship with them -- with the help of people who are committed to showing you in your best light.
  5. It can be frustrating to feel that your hard work and sacrifice are misunderstood and under-appreciated.  Here's an effective way to let your family know about some of the trials and effort that went into creating the life you enjoy together.
  6. The kids don't know who you are.  They know you as "Dad" or "Mom" or "Gramp." But they probably don't have any idea about the struggles and hurdles you faced on the way to becoming the person you are today.  Often the rifts in families are a matter of misperception.
  7. What about your business?  You've developed a style or a system or a brand or a method or.....  Whatever it is, there's a story there, right?
  8. If you sacrificed all of your free time to build a level of financial security that would keep your family free from the worries you endured in early years, you may have been surprised (and hurt) to find that family members have interpreted your dedication as  "being unavailable" or even worse, "disinterested."  Nothing could be further from the truth.  But you have no idea how to begin to tell them that.
  9. As you've grown older, you've been able to clearly see the lessons that your parents and grandparents shared with you either overtly or through experience and example.  You want to capture that for your kids and your grandkids.
  10. You want to publicly express your gratitude to the people who have helped you.
  11. You're sick and tired of reading books on 'how to succeed in business' or 'how to become a millionaire' or 'how to live your dreams' by people who, frankly, haven't.
